Well hello! I’m so glad you stumbled upon my little blog! My name is Hannah – a lover of Jesus, writing, learning, teaching, and photography. I am a big fan of enjoying life to the fullest in the light of Jesus’s promises, currently, as a college student in the PNW!
I’ve always been drawn to writing; my heart jumps for joy at the prospect of what I might be able to convey through the simplest words. Writing carries such a hope in it and an amazing opportunity to communicate and live life with people from all over the world.
As a lover of writing, I am, by definition, a lover of books. J.K. Rowling, who is among one of the greatest writers of all time, said the following, “Words are the most inexhaustible form of magic we have.” This quote rather ingeniously sums up the affection I feel towards the written word.
C.S. Lewis – yet another author with impeccable writing skills – explained, “We read to know that we are not alone.” And I’m not sure that I have ever heard a truer statement than that. For it is for the same reason we read that we speak, write, draw, and photograph – to tell others they are not alone and remind ourselves we aren’t either.
That’s another thing – along with my extensive love for words – I have an undeniable affection for that which is expressed without them. It is possible to freeze one moment of creation and keep it for the rest of time. Photography – “Painting with light” – it is indescribably wonderful.
Yet, in photography in writing in reading and other things, I’ve found one truth to remain constant – the greatest fulfillment is in living knowing the Truth. It’s in living loved, living fully, and living joyfully.
I’ve learned what it looks like to do more than just survive. Just as Jesus says in John – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
If Jesus has called me to live to the full, that means getting out in nature, taking one more picture, writing one more line, and reading one more book. Most of all, though, it means walking in Jesus’s will for my life – “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
There is an abundance of joy that has been promised, and that is why I proclaim eternal promises “with songs of joy” even in the midst of sorrow and pain – there is hope and eternal glory resting on each little step we take.
I cannot wait to go on this journey with you!
